We’re planning on opening again as soon as allowed; hopefully that’ll be December.

Local surf roots
The Red Barn has been home to Woolacombe’s surfers since the sport washed up on North Devon’s shores. Back at the start of the sixties the Surf Life Saving Club formed on Woolacombe Beach, shortly followed by the professional lifeguard service, and with The Red Barn’s proximity to the beach we became an unofficial club house and meeting point for those involved.
The local and visiting surf scene found a welcome home in The Red Barn that carries on to this day. Check out the collection of classic surfboards we have on display in the rafters, most were either made or surfed by local surfing ‘legends’ here at Woolacombe!
